AfriMed e.V. is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization dedicated to improve health outcomes in resource-limited regions. Our mission is to enhance healthcare accessibility, health education, and to empower local cooperation partners and communities to facilitate sustainable change.

One of the critical health challenges we focus on is the prevalence of snakebite incidents and inadequate treatment in many countries. With limited access to medical facilities and antivenom and insufficient knowledge about preventive and first aid measures in many communities, snakebite envenoming causes unnecessary suffering and severe health complications and fatalities.

We support related scientific projects and aim to increase public awareness about health disparities and associated social factors. Join us in our mission to build healthier futures for those in need.

In this article we highlight the fact that much of the suffering caused by venomous snakebites could be avoided if the international community and affected countries expanded and funded prevention and treatment options.
